The Journey begins...........

General admin issues: WHATEVER YOU DO MAKE SURE WE HAVE YOUR CELL NUMBER AS A LOT OF COMMUNICATION COMES TO YOU VIA WHATSAP. If you want whatsap to go to both parents and the learner just make sure you register those numbers as well. We make use of a broadcast system on whatsap. No one else on the broadcast group can see any numbers except the administrator on our side.  We advise interested parties to use a laptop or computer to access links rather than a phone. It is much easier to create folders for future use. You can now use whatsap on your computer as well and it makes typing just that much easier

For us to advise learners on their further education and career paths the process from hereon will be a one on one dialogue with the learner and parent.  For ease of understanding we are going to sketch the process in general.

All courses, skills development actions , learning interventions and occupational assessments that we are going to offer to the home-schooling  and any schools environment will be overseen by a NGO .   The NGO  involved is Prospherum Skills Academy (NPC) reg nr. 2015/272627/08.

            The process is basically the following:

      1.    Any learner (home school or otherwise) from the age of 15 can enrol in the program which will be rolled out per individual learner in consultation with the parent/s involved.    

Every parent and child have an idea where they are going in life.   But the best results are obtained by doing a professional evaluation of these visions.  This is not the be all and end all of anything, but it is a guideline to the family as to what is best suited occupation and interest to the learner and where he/she is most likely to succeed.

2, We advise that an occupational assessment be made for each learner individually.  The test we use has been internationally recognized and is one of the most comprehensive ones available for the purpose.  It entails 3 different tests which is a controlling mechanism to ensure that the true picture is obtained.

             3.  The outcome is communicated to the parent and learner. 

             4.  Once the outcome is available, we will discuss our recommendations as to

      what the path forward would result in the best outcomes and we will

   recommend which of partner’s courses are best suitable to attain these

   outcomes

             5. Part of the discussions will focus on the parent's own jobs and    

                where they work as to establish whether we can access funding from

                their skills development plans.   

            6. Any learner from the age of 15 can start working as per department of labour

           regulations and   they can be placed in a workplace environment to attain

workplace  experience should they start studying in a specific direction.

7.  Those learners looking at higher education can enrol in a specific

  bridging qualification.

We have a case study of one of our parents whose daughter had to do

 a Bridging course in Higher Education and after she passed three

 compulsory subjects as a para-legal in the first term and went on to now

 studying for the full qualification. 

8. We can also assist students who does not have matric to put them into

 a NQF Level four  learner ship program which is equivalent to a Matric

in Occupational terms.

           

The NPO has placed around 300 of these young people through the system. 

      We can help any student irrelevant of what their current qualification

      is. If theyare planning on study levels of Higher Education they can even

 start while they are  busy with home schooling.   

       This will work amazing because by the time they have completed their

 schooling  they would have earned Credits to continue studies or have

completed a full learner ship.

      Depending on the feedback and needs identified in the next month or two we might do

    Anything that must be paid in the process is done upfront and once you

    decide to leave we will call it quits without any questions asked.
